Completed in 2019, The Lakes is a 300-acre master-planned community thoughtfully positioned on a natural plateau overlooking Okanagan and Wood Lakes in the District of Lake Country. Delivered through a multi-phased approach, the community comprises approximately 1,200 homes, including 600 multi-family residences and 600 single-family homesites, designed to balance density, livability, and long-term community value.

As part of the Okanagan Land Development Corporation partnership, MDC played a key role in advancing the planning, servicing, and execution of the project, contributing to a complete community that supports housing choice, responsible growth, and long-term municipal sustainability. The Lakes has enhanced the District of Lake Country through the provision of diverse housing options, integrated infrastructure, connected neighbourhood design, and access to outdoor amenities, while reinforcing the area’s economic vitality and creating a lasting framework for community life overlooking the Okanagan’s natural landscape.
