Built in the early 1900s as a factory, the historic building that is home to Kids Market, was the starting point in creating a unique, open concept environment. In 1984, as Granville Island established itself as a top Canadian tourist destination, Kids Market was designed to provide a fun-filled retail, entertainment, and activity space dedicated to kids and their families.

For over 40 years the Macdonald Group, through Kids Market, has maintained a vision of fun, imagination, creativity, and community. Today, Kids Market features over 25 independently-owned small business vendors, a 30+ game arcade, hundreds of immersive virtual reality experiences, a multilevel indoor playground, and hosts more than 75 community events each year—making it a beloved destination for generations of families.
